Madonna names a Jagger as new face of Material Girl
Pop legend Madonna has chosen Mick Jagger and Jerry Halls daughter, Georgia May Jagger, as the new face of her clothing line, Material Girl.
The 20-year-old model tweeted her news this morning:
"To be handpicked by Madonna and Lola as the new face of Material Girl is truly amazing," Georgia said in a statement. "I've always admired Madonna's style and I'm thrilled to be working with them."
Miss Jagger is also the face of Rimmel cosmetics and has appeared in ads for H&M and Hudson Jeans and on the cover of magazines including Vogue and Harpers Bazaar UK March issue. She is currently featured in a charity campaign, Fashion Targets Breast Cancer.
Material Girl launched in 2010 and is sold exclusively at Macys stores in the U.S. and Canada and online and will be expanding to the U.K., Europe and Australia this summer. Madonnas daughter, Lourdes "Lola" Leon, helps collaborate with designing the junior clothing line.
The faces of Material Girl have one thing in common: They all are rock stars...or are at least related to one. Georgia will replace Kelly Osbourne, who replaced the original face, Taylor Momsen, the actress turned singer.
Georgia will appear in the back-to-school campaign for Material Girl this summer.
