Madonnas ex and producer, Mark Kamins died at 57

Mark Kamins, Madonnas former flame and the man responsible for kickstarting her career, died at 57.

The Huffington Post reported that Kamins suffered a massive coronary in Mexico. He had experienced heart problems for several months prior to the incident.

DJ and Producer Mark Kamins is best known for discovering Madonna and helping her to launch her career. He presented Madonnas demo to Seymour Stein from Sire Records, who signed her quickly and moved her upward to stardom. Kamins also produced Madonnas single Everybody in 1982, which provided her first chance to appear in a dance magazine and has been performed live many times since its release.

Regarding this tragedy, Madonna issued a statement to Hollywood Reporter.

She wrote: Im very sorry to hear about Marks death. I havent seen him for years but if it werent for him, I might not have had a singing career. He was the first DJ to play my demos before I had a record deal. He believed in me before anyone else did. I owe him a lot. May he Rest in Peace.
