Madonna wants the 'perfect' man

Madonna wants to be 'swept off her feet' by the 'perfect' man. The 53-year-old star - who has previously been married to Sean Penn and Guy Ritchie and is currently dating 24-year-old dancer Brahim Zaibat - believes women all have similar expectations about love, though she knows she is responsible for her own happiness. She told Britain's Hello! magazine: 'We women still want what we've always wanted. So much has changed for us over the last few decades, in that we have the opportunity for better education, for many different kinds of jobs, for being independent in ourselves. 'But we all still find ourselves wanting the same thing at the same time - to be swept off our feet by the perfect man. 'We all think that perfect love is going to change our lives immensely. And of course love does change your life. But what we also have to understand is that happiness lies in our own hands, not someone else's.' The 'Hung Up' hitmaker - whose di...

"My family seems to think rehab is some kind of magic panacea for life's ills," he said. Madonna can't shake Material Girl tag

Madonna 'can't live down' the nickname Material Girl. The 53-year-old singer insists the moniker - which came after she released a single of the same name in 1985 - should be 'ironic', but she jokes it has left people thinking she is 'superficial'. In an ironic video, she joked: 'When I started off and people called me the Material Girl it was meant to be ironic. Not to be meant to be taken seriously. 'I'm not sure people understand irony in this day and age. I can't live that name down now. 'People think I am a superficial person. And I am not. I love horses. I love flowers. I don't love hydrangeas. I love nature. Trees. Animals. I don't love all animals.' During the clip, the 'Hung Up' hitmaker jokingly accuses her 15-year-old daughter Lourdes as being 'looksist' and an 'ageist' as they discuss a modelling competition they are holding. There havent been too many details about the album, but here is what we know so far: its expected to drop early next year, the first single may be released in February or March and shes working with Ray of Light producer William Orbit. Yet, we recently learned another possible detail about the hotly awaited record some of that good music may just come from Aussie sister DJ-duo NERVO (Liv and Mim). The girls, who spent their summer as an opening act on Britney Spears' Femme Fatale Tour , have written songs for some of the biggest artists in the business, including, Ke$ha, David Guetta and Nicole Scherzinger, and could possibly be adding Madonna to that list. That one, you know, its another one well s...

Madonna Bustier Auctioned For $72,000

Photo: Getty Images More often than not, the auction pieces that ring up the highest price are those once owned or used by someone no longer living. When that person is contemporary music history's Queen of Pop and the item in question is the iconic *achem* tasseled performance outfit from her Who's That Girl tour, well... needless to say, circumstances are different. Originally estimated to garner between $6,000 and $8,000, Madonna 's gold-embellished bustier raked in a whopping $72,000. Granted, it's not the $1.8 million Michael Jackson's "Thriller" jacket can boast nor the cool $5.6 million of Marilyn Monroe's Seven Year Itch dress , but for the swag of a LIVING LEGEND, that's a pretty hefty price tag. Not to mention, this thing is not only infamous in its own right, but that pointy-...

Madonna's homeless brother is not her tell-all brother

Image
Madonna has a homeless brother, it turns out. And thinking that Jacket Copy might lend a helping hand to the man, who is living under a bridge in Michigan, we remembered that the Material Girl's brother published a book a few years back. But Madonna's homeless brother is older sibling Anthony; the one who wrote the tell-all memoir "Life With My Sister Madonna" is younger brother Christopher. So it's Christopher who's due royalties, should you be compelled to buy his book, and the purchase won't help poor Anthony at all. He could use a hand. He tries to avoid frostbite living on the streets in Traverse City, he tells the Michigan Messenger . Ciccone said hes been among the citys homeless for a year and a half since losing a job at his fathers vineyard and winery in Suttons Bay. This post has been corrected, as detailed below. Madonna's brother is reportedly homeless and living under a bridge in Michigan after losing his job a year and a half ago and he's annoyed that some people might find that amusing. "My family turned their back on me, basically, when I was having a hard time," Anthony Ciccone told the Michigan Messenger website. "You think I haven't answered this kind of question a bazillion times why my sister is a multibazillionaire and I'm homeless on the street?" Madonna, of course, recently made headlines for her struggles with free hydrangeas . Ciccone said he had been working at his father's winery in Sutton's Bay, Mich., but now works odd jobs and collects recyclables. He's living in a town that has a network of churches providing nightly meals to those in need and though the food may be hot, the northern Michigan days can be cold, with Ciccone among those falling victim to frostbite. Madonna annoys film fans

Madonna was booed by fans at a premiere for her new movie last night. By Jessica Satherley Last updated at 7:12 PM on 21st October 2011 Steven Greenoe is on trial at Liverpool Crown Court A former U.S. marine, who once worked as a bodyguard for Madonna, has denied being part of an international gun smuggling conspiracy. Steven Greenoe, 37, bought guns from American gun shops, broke them down to their component parts and then smuggled them into the UK in his luggage, a trial at Liverpool Crown Court heard. The prosecution say Steven Cardwell, 31, and Neil Copplestone, 32, both from Liverpool, sold guns smuggled by Greenoe on to UK criminals and that the weapons were used in numerous crimes on the streets of the UK, including one fatal shooting. Is Rihanna Really The New Madonna?

Image
It's easy to compare Lady Gaga and Britney Spears to Madonna and have the two of them vie for her throne. But could it be that there's another pop star secretly working her way to Queen of Pop status and doing it more in the spirit of Madge herself? Well, there's an argument to be made that Rihanna is certainly following in the footsteps of the Mama of Pop. "I think that Madonna was a great inspiration for me, especially on my earlier work. If I had to examine her evolution through time, I think she reinvented her clothing style and music with success every single time," Rihanna said earlier this year . "And at the same time remained a real force in entertainment in the whole world." While some of you may be scratching your head at the suggestion that Ri and not Gaga or Brit might be the new Madge, we've come up with some reasons why. Follow us here for a second, okay? For one thing, both artists, over the evolution of their careers, have worke...

Madonna inspired Nile Rodgers to quit drugs 17 yrs ago

Washington, Oct 21 : Music producer Nile Rodgers has revealed that it was Madonna who encouraged him to quit drugs after embarrassing himself at the singers birthday party 17 years ago. The Chic star and Madonna teamed up to produce her Like A Virgin album in 1984 and the two became pals, but he tested the friendship when he let loose his severe drug and alcohol addictions at the singers bash. She had a birthday party at her house in Miami Beach (Florida). I was on a three-day binge and up all the time partying... I didnt even want to go to sleep, Contactmusic quoted him as telling UsMagazine.com. I ran into Madonna at a club called Liquid and she invited me over for her birthday party. My behaviour, which I dont remember at all, was not so cool. I am almost positive that I was the last person to leave. And I was carried home and it was really ugly. I was so embarrassed I didnt even talk to Madonna for a long time. And then when I saw her and I apologised, she looked at me and she said...

"Oh man, all kinds of people came 'round," says the performer, who will bring the show about Nigerian musician Fela Kuti to Toronto audiences next week. "Denzel (Washington), Sam Jackson, Susan Sarandon, Madonna, Janet Jackson, Sting, Bruce Springsteen, Prince. I mean, it goes on and on. (Robert) De Niro ... Barbara Walters, Jane Fonda ... Oprah Winfrey." Of course, the producers of the show Will Smith, wife Jada Pinkett-Smith and hip-hop mogul Jay-Z are no slouches either. Ngaujah, a first generation Sierra Leonean who recently did theatre work in Amsterdam, says the high-wattage backing has helped "Fela!" find an audience. "The bottom line is, with a show like this ... with it not being a version of a popular film or something of that nature, or without it having a celebrity in the lead role, it...

Its a gripping account of his rags-to-riches rise, which began in New York City but eventually brought him out west to L.A. His introduction to drugs came early, as both his parents struggled with heroin addiction, but his taste later ran to cocaine...
