Madonna's perfume ad too racy for TV

Madonna's perfume commercial is too racy for TV. The 'Girls Gone Wild' singer's new 30-second black-and-white ad for her Truth or Dare scent have been deemed inappropriate for Disney-owned channel ABC with bosses ordering that shots of her breasts and butt be digitally altered to cover them up. A source the New York Post's Page Six: 'ABC viewed the ad came back with a list of changes. They say they want her bra digitally made bigger, and to extend higher to cover more of her chest, and her corset longer to cover more of her bottom. ABC also wants to cut another suggestive scene where Madonna writhes around.' However, even once the changes have been made, channel bosses have ruled the ad - which features Madonna, 53, in a corset and fishnet stockings dancing and singing 'I'm a bad girl' - can only run after the 9pm watershed, with the exception of daytime show 'The View'. A second source confirmed: 'ABC has requested some changes be ma...

Madonna still wild, but hardly surprising - Fri, 30 Mar 2012 PST

(Full-size photo) AlbumReview Madonna, MDNA, Live Nation/InterscopeRecords ADVERTISEMENT Advertise Here Twenty years ago, when Madonna was at the top of her game, she published her provocative art book Sex. In it, she included photos of herself in various states of undress and wrote about the art of seduction. Her tips included wearing good perfume, garter belts but no underpants and that on every date you have to say one really disarmingthing. Decades later, the now-53-year-old confirms, for better or for worse OK, worse that Madge of the Dance Floor is nothing if notconsistent. On her 12th studio album, MDNA, she follows the advice she laid out at her peak. Madonna's Truth Or Dare Perfume Commercial Causes Controversy

Madonna introduces Avicii at Ultra Music Festival on March 24, 2012 in Miami, Florida. Photo: Getty Images WHOA. According to the New York Post , the Queen of Pop, aka Madonna , was asked to tone down the new ad for her Truth or Dare by Madonna perfume as it was deemed too racy for ABC network television. Clocking in at 30 seconds, the ad features Madge rolling around in black lingerie while the refrain "I know I shouldn't act this way/I know good girls don't misbehave/But I'm a bad girl," is repeated in the background juxtaposed with shots of the white and gold perfume bottle. Aside from licking her mega-rouged lips and briefly fondling the same cleavage and bum dimplage we've ALL seen again and again for decades, there's really, um, nothing to see here folks. Thus, our question is this: What's the big deal, ABC? From what we already know about Madonna's perfume from our own extensive smell tests , the scent itself is less "narcotic flower...

Madonna calls herself a 'bad girl' in racy Truth or Dare perfume ad

Madonna has released her first perfume, launching the scent Truth or Dare with a sexy black-and-white commercial that could have been shot alongside her new video, "Girl Gone Wild," which was recently age restricted on YouTube. In the 30-second commercial, images of the Material Girl in fishnet stockings intercut with the singer in a low-cut corset and cross necklace. She licks her lips seductively and flirts with a mirror, before appearing onscreen in a bondage mask. "I know I shouldn't act this way/ I know, I know, I know, good girls don't misbehave," Madonna sings over a dance beat in the spot. "But I'm a bad girl." The racy ad ends with multiple shots of the perfume's bottle. MADONNA RIPPED BY DJ DEADMAU5 MADONNA RELEASES 'MDNA ' The imagery in the ad, however, seems to conflict with a press release for the new fragrance, which says that the scent was inspired by Madge's mother. "My oldest memory of my mother is her per...

Madonna on course for number one

Image
29 March 2012 Last updated at 07:22 ET The critics been largely positive over Madonna's latest record Madonna's new album MDNA is on course to top the charts on both sides of the Atlantic, according to midweek figures. If the album makes number one in the UK, she will beat the record currently held by Elvis Presley for the most number one albums by a solo artist. It would be her 12th appearance at number one, including compilations The Immaculate Collection and Celebration, and the Evita soundtrack. MDNA has shifted 39,000 copies so far, said the Official Charts Company. In the US, it is expected to sell 300,000 - 350,000 copies, almost double this week's number one, which is the soundtrack to action movie The Hunger Games. It will be the pop star's eighth number one album in the US, and the first-week sales will be higher than those of Madonna's last studio album, Hard Candy, which debuted at number one with 280,000 copies sold, according to US chart compilers Ni...

Madonna's promises in Africa turn sour

Image
Celebrity promises have turned to disappointment, finger-pointing and lawsuits in Malawi, an impoverished and troubled southern African country where Madonna has drastically scaled back charity efforts. Some Malawi officials say Madonna's changes in plans have taken them by surprise, but Madonna's camp says the government has been informed and involved in the new agenda. In 2009, Education Minister George Chaponda helped Madonna break ground for a $US15 million ($A14.5 million) academy for girls. Earlier this year, Madonna's Raising Malawi foundation announced that instead of building the academy, it is providing $US300,000 to the non-governmental organisation buildOn, which has years of experience in Malawi, to develop 10 schools. They'll serve about 1000 boys and girls in the southern African nation of 15 million that is among the poorest in the world. 'We haven't been officially approached' about the change, Chaponda complained recently. 'We are just ...

Healthy Hollywood: Try It On Tuesday - Madonna's Mane Style!

Access Hollywood 29 mins ago The mother of reinvention - Madonna - is at it again. With the release of her new album this week, "MDNA," the world's fashion icon has a new look. It's been described as sexy erotica with a sporty touch. While the outfit is something only Madonna could pull off, her bouncy hairstyle is for ALL girls who want to let loose and have fun - no matter their age. Madonna's longtime hairstylist, Andy Lecompte , created the looks for her "Girl Gone Wild" video and says Madonna wanted her hairstyle to be carefree and reflect her "MDNA's" getup and dance attitude. "It's very '60s with a rockabilly edge factor," Andy reveals to Healthy Hollywood . He kept her hair color platinum blonde since that's the iconic look she's known for. But, Andy says the soft curls are perfect for women of all ages and hair textures . PLAY IT NOW: Madonna Gets Into The Groove Andy created 3 different styles for the ...

Madonna and DJ settle drugs row

Image
By Greg Cochrane Newsbeat music reporter Madonna and DJ Deadmau5 Deadmau5 and Madonna appear to have settled a dispute, after he accused the singer of promoting drug use. The dance DJ had labelled Madonna an "idiot" and "irresponsible" after he said she was promoting the use of MDMA at a music festival. Madonna asked the crowd if they "have seen Molly?" (slang for the drug) at this weekend's Ultra festival in Miami. Madonna has now replied saying: "I don't support drug use and I never have." Drug dispute During his initial rant on Twitter and Facebook Deadmau5 sarcastically wrote: "Very classy there Madonna. HUR DUR HAS ANYONE SEEN MOLLY???" Such a great message for the young music lovers at Ultra [sic]" In a Twitter question and answer session hosted yesterday (26 March) Deadmau5 - whose real name is Joel Zimmerman - and Madonna exchanged views on what had happened. He said: "@MadonnaMDNAday You're a role model...

Madonna's "MDNA" receives lukewarm welcome from critics

Image
By Piya Sinha-Roy | Reuters 2 hrs 2 mins ago LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - The music doesn't stop for pop icon Madonna , and neither does the controversy, as the 53-year-old 'Queen of Pop' returns to the spotlight with her latest album "MDNA". The uptempo record "MDNA" sees Madonna continue her love affair with dance music in an album dedicated to club-friendly tracks. And Madonna has lost none of her ability to push boundaries, just as she did 25 years ago with themes of sexuality and youth rebellion. The title, "MDNA" -- an allusion to the drug MDMA or ecstasy -- has caused a stir, while the music video for the second single, "Girl Gone Wild", has been slapped with an age restriction after YouTube deemed it too raunchy for under 18 year-olds. The video, shot in black and white, sees the singer writhing and grinding with scantily dressed men, in a style similar to her "Erotica" days, when the video for her song "Justify ...

Review: Madonna still brings heat, beats on 'MDNA'

At 53, she's still got it going on. And thankfully so. Her newest release, "MDNA" her first apart from her longtime label, Warner Bros. is full of upbeat dance jams and simmering slow grooves, and it delivers for the most part. True, it's not nearly as top-notch as past records from the pop icon; the songs on "MDNA," despite some risqu language, are much safer and tread familiar ground. Still, there are some standouts. "Girl Gone Wild," produced by Benny and Alle Benassi ( Chris Brown 's "Beautiful People"), starts things off nicely ...
