Madonnas Next Move? Possibly a Mens Fragrance
At Macys Herald Square in New York last week to celebrate the launch of her first fragrance, Truth or Dare, Madonna was already thinking about future product plans.
I think it would be good to do a mens fragrance, she told WWD after revealing that she already has a second womens scent in the works. I love musk and amber and woody kind of fragrances on men. I love the smell of whiskey. I cant drink it, its too strong, but it smells amazing.
However, developing her very first fragrance was time-consuming enough. Every time I tried to create the scent I was looking for, it never reached the stage where I thought it was good enough, or I was told that the ingredients would be impossible to re-create in a mass way, she explained. It never smelled as good as I wanted it to. And if Im not going to wear it, Im not going to sell it. So, I finally was able to create, with my partners, a fragrance that I could stand behind.
Truth or Dare even passed the hardest test earning approval from Madonnas daughter, Lourdes. She is a very opinionated young lady, and she likes this perfume, the star said happily.
For the past two years, Madonna has been working with Lourdes on their Material Girl line (also found in Macys stores), which recently expanded from clothing and accessories into outerwear, beauty, lingerie and more. And the singer said she hopes the Truth or Dare brand which already has li! ngerie a nd footwear in the pipeline will do the same. As long as she has a hand in all of the planning.
I dont take the job of creating anything whether its fragrance, or beauty products, or clothes lightly, and I need a lot of time to do stuff, she explained. I dont like it when other people create for me. Tell us: Are you planning to check out any Truth or Dare products?
