Madonna shows pride in dancers

Madonna watched like a 'proud mother' as her dancers gave an impromptu performance in New York restaurant Antica Pesa.

The 'Hung Up' hitmaker - accompanied by eldest children Lourdes, 16, and Rocco, 12 - was among guests at a birthday meal for one of her 'MDNA' tour performers at Brooklyn eatery Antica Pesa last Thursday and the group shocked fellow diners after the meal was over by having restaurant staff close the curtains and create a dance floor for them.

One surprised onlooker told the New York Post newspaper: 'They started showcasing some of the moves from their 'MDNA' tour.

'The staff quickly moved the tables out of the way to turn the dining area into a dance floor, which got everyone clapping and cheering, including Madonna, who watched from a table.

'(Afterwards) they took a bow and hugged their boss, who approved like a proud mother.'

However, it seemed not everyone was keen to join in the fun.

The group - who danced to a series of Madonna tracks including 'Music' - had tried to persuade Rocco to dance with them but he refused.

Madonna's party enjoyed a number of dishes including calamari, fried mozzarella, cacio e pepe, seasoned vegetables, tortellini, seabass and cod, before rounding off the meal with a birthday cake.

Among the surprised diners were actor Tom Hardy.
