Madonna Loves Kate Middleton's 'Elegant' Style!
We already know Kate Middleton sees Madonna as somewhat of a style icon. No sillies, the DoC hasnt ditched her shift dresses and nude heels for bejewelled leotards and fishnet tights, but we did see her copy-catting the Queen of Pop at Prince Philip's birthday in August.
Madonna and Kate Middleton wearing the same Stella McCartney dress
Yes, who could forget when Kate channelled her Madgesty by wearing the very same peach Stella McCartney frock that Madonna wore in Cannes three years earlier? And now we know the admiration is mutual.
'She is a lovely girl with a great sense of style,' Madonna told People at the New York screening of W.E. on Sunday. 'Her wedding dress by Alexander McQueen was very beautiful.
And while some style experts (Vivienne Westwood and Valentino, were talking to you) have criticised Catherine's style for being rather *ahem* fusty, Madonna admits she rates her sartorial choices. Shes elegant and still knows how to have some fun. Im a fan of her style.' Hurrah!
Admittedly, although the Material Girl is known for her bonkers conical bras and outrageous stage attire, the singer-turned-director has showcased a more demure, Middy-like style on her recent red carpet circuit.
Whats more, Madonna is a self-confessed fan of the British Royal family, having lived in England when she was Guy Ritchies missus and confessing to an affinity with Wallis Simpson, who inspired her movie W.E..
So let's officially add Madonna to the pack of Middy fans, along with Anna Dello Russo Shes modern, really modern and Anne Hathaway She's such an advocate for dressing like a lady.
