Madonna s Golden Globe miffs Elton John

There was plenty of drama at the post-awards parties for the Golden Globes. While Madonna publicly laughed it off, its clear Elton John and his spouse David Furnish were furious about the Material Mom beating out Sir Elton for best film song on Sunday.

Furnish posted an angry note on Facebook (Madonna. Best Song? F--- off!) and the two men continued to harp at post-Globes parties about both the award and Madonnas acceptance speech, which they called self-indulgent.

John was especially angry Madonna admitted that the song was very much an afterthought, added only after the movie was basically finished.

The two superstars have long had a testy relationship. The feud started years ago, when John snipped about Madonna being merely a lip-syncher.

Backstage Sunday, Madonna told the press she hopes John speaks to me for the next couple of years. Hes been known to get mad at me, so I dont know. Hes brilliant, and I adore him, so hell win another award. I dont feel bad.

However, Im hearing her private comments after she read Furnishs remarks on Facebook were far less gracious.

In addition, she is irked! by John and Furnish constantly dissing her fake British accent and also is unhappy about their unflattering digs at her W.E. film about the Wallis Simpson-Edward VIII romance.

One has to remember John and Furnish are very close to the British royal family, who, of course, long have been traumatized by the big abdication crisis in 1936 that threatened the future of the monarchy.

On a happier note, Kelsey Grammer understandably seemed more excited about new wife Kayte expecting twins than winning the Golden Globe for the Chicago-made Boss.

MORE FEUDING! Could there be another war of words between Rosie ODonnell and Donald Trump? The comedian and talk show host has tweeted support for Youve Been Trumped, a documentary that claims The Donald bullied people in Scotland into turning over virgin wilderness so he could develop a golf resort.

ODonnell is going even further promising to attend a Friday screening of the movie in Chicago at the Gene Siskel Film Center.

CIVIL BUT DISTANT: According to those who should know, the pending divorce between Russell Brand and Katy Perry is likely to proceed with a minimum of angst.

The couple just met to iron out all the details, but a source claims that while the very calm meeting will smooth the way to an amicable split, it was so businesslike, it was hard to remember they had once been so passionate about each other.

TAKE A BOW: There will be true star power on hand at the Four Seasons Hotel as DePauls Theatre School presents its Excellence in the Arts awards on April 16 to Tony winner Nathan Lane, alumnus Ted Wass and civic leader Christopher Kennedy. The annual awards gala will be co-chaired by noted architect Joseph Antunovich, Turtle Wax chair Sondra Healy and Msgr. Ken Velo of DePaul.

SAD NOTE: Chicagos improv comedy co! mmunity is mourning Mike Enriquez, a popular performer and teacher at both iO Theatre and ComedySportz, who died last week of lymphoma. A memorial is being planned.

SEEN ON THE SCENE: Mayor Rahm Emanuel was spied lunching Monday at Vivo on West Randolph with ex-Bull B.J. Armstrong. Over the weekend Hizzoner and Sox great Minnie Minoso were at the opening of Mr. Rickey Calls a Meeting at Lookingglass. A group of Lyric Opera supporters including Shirley and Pat Ryan, Anne and Chris Reyes, Susan and Nick Noyes, Clement and Rick Durkes, Suzette and Allan Bulley, Lyrics music director Sir Andrew Davis and the companys general director Anthony Freud were on hand for the Harry Winston bash to debut Song, the special Lyric Opera wine created by Gemstone Vineyards. It was part of a busy Renee Fleming visit that also included Lyrics creative consultants concert with famed baritone Dmitri Hvorostovsky. Newly acquired Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo loved it when Gibsons popular waiter Mo introduced him to former Cubs first baseman/Hall of Famer Ernie Banks when the two men coincidentally dined at the Rush Street steakery. Banks (and the Bears Israel Idonije) also played a nice role at the early surprise birthday party that my Fox TV colleague Jan Jeffcoat staged for hubby Matthew Kingsley at Harry Carays on Kinzie several days before his 40th.
