Madonna sued over 1990 hit Vogue

Madonna is being sued by record label VMG for sampling one of their artists songs in her hit single Vogue.

Madonna being sued for alleged unauthorised sampling in Vogue

VMG claim the star sampled parts of the Salsoul Orchestra song Bus Stop (Ooh, I Love It) and used these samples in Vogue, which was released 22 years ago.

According to VMG the alleged sampling only came to light recently as the technology is now available to search for specific sounds within songs.

Both songs were written by Peter "Shep" Pettibone who worked extensively in the 80s and 90s with other artists like Janet Jackson and the Pet Shop Boys.

Madonna has yet to comment on the allegations.
